Welcome to Staithes
A hidden gem in North Yorkshire
Staithes is a traditional fishing village nestled amongst the cliffs of the North Yorkshire coast. This unspoilt village is sheltered by high cliffs and is a frequent destination for film and television crews looking for the unspoilt beauty and cobbled streets. There is still a small fleet of traditional fishing boats based here, from the Staithes Coble to more modern offshore fishing vessels.A sandy beach complements the old school charm of the village where you can see fishermen repairing lobster pots. There are several pubs in the village offering great beer and excellent food. For those that wish to travel little further afield, Whitby is about 10 miles away or the victorian seaside town of Saltburn a similar distance, both served by a regular bus service.
